Lakes & Mountains
The Lake District National Park, designated in 1951, is famous for its lakes and mountains. In an area of 2292 sq.kms. It includes 19 major lakes, waters and reservoirs, and 21 mountains with 6 summits over 900m, including Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England.
