May 2008

We were appointed an Official Photographer of the Cumberland Ale Keswick Mountain Festival 2008. The festival grows every year, and looks set to become a major event; it can be seen here. We also organised the Wainwright-themed Photographic Competition for the Festival. This attracted over 100 entries, and was a big success.

Feb 2008

We have begun to make exhibited photographers exhibitions available online. Beginning with the 'Near and Far' exhibition, featuring photographs by mountaineer Chris Bonington in a joint retrospective exhibition with Tony Riley, which can be seen here. Sales of Chris's work are available from 016974-78286.

'Secret Eden', with poet Kathy Jones, is in preparation.

If you are interested in marketing your exhibition on the site in the same way, contact Tony.

From image number "xxxx_2683" onwards, GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) information is included in almost all our image metadata. The location an image is recorded from can be viewed in Google Earth as a satellite image. Legacy images previous to this will be updated gradually.

Sept 2006 Collaboration required from Museum/Archivist

We are closely monitoring emerging standards for the digital preservation of heritage, and are interested in working with other interested parties to develop methods which meet them.

While the technical results of our work so far are both promising and economic, professional input from an archivist's, or art historian's viewpoint is needed, since the digital preservation of art requires a combination of skills. More information
here.

Could any institution interested in collaborating on our developing methodology with a digitisation project, please
Contact us.
